WPC Supports Disaster Relief in Tuscaloosa, AL
In the wake of the natural disasters in Alabama last week, WPC has rallied to support the relief effort.
A truck will be departing the Lake Barrington, IL office on Wednesday (5/4/11) to bring much needed supplies to those in need, as well as helping to support 10 caring individuals who will travel to Alabama and help in the clean-up and rescue effort. Future shipments and donations are accepted and will be gathered for later transport.
Gathered to go for the first shipment is:
22 bags of clothes
200 lbs. of dog food
250 lbs. of rice
1,600 + bottles of water
200 + cans of soup and tuna
680 + diapers and bags of baby supplies
40 lbs. of soap, shampoo, and dental hygiene supplies
4 boxes of children’s toys
20 + cell phones and chargers
3 family sized tents
Camping equipment
Bags of medicine and first aid kits
Several blankets, sleeping bags and pillows
Cooking equipment
Over $4,000 in cash donations already being transferred to a local disaster relief fund
Nearly $1,000 in Wal-Mart Gift Cards
In keeping with the core beliefs of WPC’s management we urge our vendors and customers to rally to aid those in Alabama as well, in any way you can.
This is just a small sample of what can happen when a group of good people decide to take action and help others.
